Witnesses say a young man in a Pontiac Trans Am crashed while passing in a no-passing zone on Keetonville Road in Rogers County Monday morning. The man, thought to be in his 20s, was taken to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition.

The wreck took place on wet roads, at a hilly section of State Highway 20 between Owasso and Claremore. Witnesses to the crash say the driver of the Trans Am was eastbound, traveling at a high rate of speed and passing other vehicles when he lost control of the sports car.

The Trans Am flipped and landed in a ditch. It was the only car involved in the wreck, according to Trooper Andy Floyd with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

"It's a pretty dangerous road," Floyd said. "It's sharp curves and stuff, probably about three-quarters of a mile long."

Traffic was backed up as Highway Patrol troopers, Limestone firefighters and other emergency personnel investigate the accident.
