A Tahlequah man charged with 9 counts of lewd molestation and related charges is being held without bond in the Cherokee County jail.
Roxie Wagers, 71, was charged last fall, but after he was released on bond he headed to Florida and was about to flee the U.S. to Columbia when he was arrested, according to U.S. Marshals.

Wagers was returned to Tahlequah this week and after a court hearing Wednesday, a judge denied bond until a February 13th court hearing after prosecutors said he was a flight risk.
Court records say Wagers began molesting a girl starting in 2006 when she was nine years old and continued until this year. Tahlequah Police say Wagers tried to bribe the girl's family, offering them $17,000 not to go to the authorities.
