Tulsa Police investigated two incidents Wednesday morning where a person was struck as they stepped into the street.

At 7:45 a.m. police say a 12-year-old girl was taken by EMSA to the hospital to be checked out after being hit by an SUV on Pine.

Police say a group of students was walking to Academy Central School when one of the students stepped into the path of a Ford Escape. Officers say the driver wasn't able to stop, striking the girl and sending 12-year-old up onto the hood.

The incident occurred on Pine near Santa Fe.

Tulsa Police say no citation was issued to the driver as she wasn't doing anything improper.

Tulsa Police say just before 10 a.m. a GMC pickup truck struck a man crossing Peoria at 17th Street.

Officers say the man stepped into the street in front of the pickup sending him into the truck's windshield.

EMSA says the 43-year-old man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
