Much of eastern Oklahoma saw snowflakes on Friday. News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot says a band of moderate snow moved out of central Oklahoma into east central and northeastern Oklahoma Friday.

Faurot says a half inch to an inch of snow was expected to accumulate as the band moved east. Some of the snow is expected to stick on area roads.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says crews are monitoring conditions and laying down salt and sand to treat slick areas as it becomes necessary.

ODOT says the biggest concern is bridges. With the snow, ODOT reminds drivers to be cautious because non-treated road surfaces could be slick.

The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisory for most of eastern Oklahoma until 6 p.m.
