An appeals court has ruled in favor of a Broken Arrow police officer who shot and killed a man during a domestic violence call in 2009.
Officer Stephen Garrett shot Nathan Samuel, who was carrying a knife and ignored repeated orders to drop it and stop advancing.
Samuel's widow, Ruth Samuel, sued the City of Broken Arrow and Garrett.
A district court ruled in the city's favor, so Ruth Samuel appealed.
The appeals court upheld the ruling, saying the officer's use of force was legal.
