Carver Middle School presented a $300 check to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma Thursday.

The students collected money in Santa hats and stockings during their lunch.

Then the George Kaiser Family Foundation matched the school's donation.

The food bank said their donation would provide about 3,000 meals for needy Green Country families.

"Everyone was so happy, especially since that's more than 100 times the students in our grade," said Carver student, Clare Bradshaw.

The school also donated canned foods as well as toys for the Fill the Firehouse campaign.
