Tulsa Police arrested a man found hiding in a backyard following a high-speed chase late Thursday night.

Police say the pursuit started at about 11 p.m. near Independence and Sheridan.

Officers lost track of the SUV in a neighborhood, but found it crashed into a tree at Marshall and Yale a short time later.

A search of the SUV turned up freshly-made meth and four tires belonging to another vehicle. Police found Ulysses Washington hiding in the backyard of a nearby home. They say he was a passenger in the SUV.

That home was the scene of a police standoff involving a meth lab earlier this month.

Washington had an outstanding warrant on a meth charge and was arrested and taken to the Tulsa County jail.
