A man who said he had a strong sexual urge from watching pornography has been arrested for the attempted rape of a Tulsa Subway Sandwich Shop worker.
It happened late Monday night in West Tulsa.
Police say a woman was alone in the Subway restaurant at 6161 South 33rd West Avenue when Norman Fitzgerald Williams walked in at about 8:45 p.m. Williams went behind the counter and pushed the woman to the back part of the kitchen. He grabbed her in a bear hug from behind, according to the report.
Williams told the woman to bend over, touching her inappropriately and telling her he wanted to have sex with her. The woman begged the man to let her go and told him there were video cameras in the store, the arrest report states.
"The defendant released her and kissed her shoes and told her that he would pay her if she would not call the police," the arrest report states. Williams left, and the woman called 911.
Williams, 20, was arrested at Love Heals Church where he is in a residential program. He told detectives he had been watching pornography earlier in the evening and noticed the worker at Subway. He said he went into the restaurant and locked the door behind him.
Williams admitted coming up behind the woman, giving her a hug and telling her to bend over.
"The defendant agreed that the victim was scared and that what he did was wrong, but he had a strong sexual urge," the arresting officer said in his report.
Surveillance video shows Williams come into the store, lock the door behind him and lead the victim to the back of the store where a bread rack blocked the camera for about two minutes.
Williams is being held at the Tulsa County Jail, booked on a complaint of attempted first degree rape. His bond is set at $50,000 bond.
