Tulsa led, 25-24, at the intermission and opened the second half on a 12-4 run to extend its halftime lead to 37-29 by the 15:33 mark. Following the initial media timeout, the Hurricane scored four quick points to make the score, 41-29, with 14:51 left in the game.
The Hurricane shot 44 percent and held the Toreros (2-2) to 34 percent shooting from the field. TU outrebounded USD, 39-26, as it cruised to the 12-point win.
Rashad Smith and James Woodard added 12 points for Tulsa.
The Golden Hurricane plays Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m. CT Saturday to close out the NUCDF Challenge.
