Bartlesville Man Charged With Running Over His Wife During Argument

A 32-year-old Bartlesville man is in the Washington County jail following his arrest after allegedly running over his wife with an SUV in August.

Ernesto Fonseca is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

A court affidavit says sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Bartlesville hospital's emergency room for a woman injured during a domestic dispute.

The victim told deputies Fonseca had slapped her, then got into an SUV and backed over her. 

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of August 3, 2012 on a rural road north of Bartlesville. 

The affidavit states the deputy observed what "appeared to be grayish colored marks that resemble a tire tread" on her back.

She told deputies Fonseca left the scene in the SUV.

Deputies arrested Fonseca this week and a judge ordered him held on a $50,000 bond pending a November 30 court hearing.
