The Tulsa men's soccer team recorded a 3-1 victory against Central Florida on Sunday afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. With the win, TU improved to 10-4-1 on the season and 4-1-1 in Conference USA, while the Knights fell to 5-5-3 overall and 2-2 in the league.
McKauly Tulloch put UCF on the board first when he scored from 15 yards out off a pass from Omar Vallejo in the 38th minute, but TU's Bradley Bourgeois headed in his first goal of the season off a cross from Omar Mata just three minutes later to tie the game 1-1.
Omar Mata drilled in a penalty kick at the 64:09 mark for the game-winner, and nearly six minutes later Bryce Follensbee headed in a goal off a cross from Tony Rocha for the 3-1 win.
Follensbee had a team-best six shots, while Cristian Mata had four attempts. Stephen Roberson and Kyle Cumings each had three shots, and Rocha, Akeil Barrett and Jon Wright all had two attempts. Mark Pais logged all 90 minutes in goal and had one save.
TU had a 26-8 lead in shots, including a 16-3 advantage in shots on goal, while the Knights had an 8-6 lead in corner kicks.
Tulsa will return to action on Saturday against Kentucky. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Hurricane Stadium.
