Here in Oklahoma, the obesity epidemic is expanding faster than other states.

Oklahoma is already the seventh-fattest state in the nation -- one out of three is obese.

A new business that just opened its doors in Tulsa hopes to change that.

"There's no artificial ingredients; there's no preservatives" kitchen manager Harmony Baddeley said. "We don't believe in that stuff. It's really bad for you."

"My Fit Foods" opened its first Oklahoma store this weekend on Cherry Street.

The company started in Houston about six years ago with a personal trainer who began cooking for his clients.

"They started seeing great results; they loved the food so they started telling their friends and we started from there," My Fit Foods' Wes Priest said.

Customers weren't quite sure what to think at first.

"Walking by, I could see the tables so I presumed it was a restaurant," customer John Lowerison said. But they quickly caught on to the concept.

"You can come in, grab one meal, sit down and eat with us, or you can grab three or four days worth of food," Priest said.

Customer Paige Cole said, "I'm very excited because I have crazy life. It's gonna be nice to be able to have a few things on hand that I can take out of the refrigerator, take to work for me if I don't have time to plan."

Ninety-five percent of the meals at My Fit Foods are soy and gluten free. They're also low glycemic, so they're diabetic friendly.

"We try to keep it as healthy as we can," Baddeley said.

Priest said, "Once you come in here and try the food, you're gonna be a huge fan."

The company boasts affordable healthy eating, but that's not all.

"There's a lot of people around that well, a lot of have at least a few extra pounds and some of us have an awful lot more," Lowerison said.

Priest said that on the company's 21-day program, the average weight loss for women is 8 to 10 pounds, and for men,10 to 12 pounds.

"Actually, I had a friend who lives in Houston who did their 21-day challenge," Cole said. "She said she lost about 11 pounds in the 21 days."

My Fit Foods has a meal coach.

They'll help you design a meal plan to fit your needs, whether that's to drop a few pounds, watch your blood sugar or even gain weight.

The best part? The meal coach is completely free.
