The Tulsa women's soccer team recorded a 3-2 victory against Southern Miss on Sunday afternoon in Hattiesburg, Miss. With the win, TU moved to 7-5-2 on the season and 2-3-1 in Conference USA, while the Golden Eagles fell to 4-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the league.
Camille Pelley put Tulsa on the board at the 29:15 mark as she slipped a goal past a diving keeper on the left off an assist from Bradi Hinch to give the Golden Hurricane a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Raven Tatum then scored the first goal of her college career in the 60th minute from 30 yards out off a pass from Claire Hulcer to make it 2-0, but Danica Roberts scored 15 minutes later for the Golden Eagles to pull within one.
Just under two minutes later Lindsay Kirch again extended the TU advantage, but Shelbi Moeller tallied the last goal with under a minute to play and the Hurricane came away with the 3-2 victory.
Tatum and Jordan O'Brien had a team-leading four shots apiece, while Claire Nicholson added three attempts. Katie Bykowski logged all 90 minutes in goal and recorded two saves.
TU had a 16-11 lead in shots, including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal, and the Hurricane had a 7-2 lead in corner kicks.
Tulsa will return to action on Friday against Marshall at 6 p.m. in Huntington, W.Va.
