A man is in jail after an alcohol-related rollover crash, and the two men with whom he collided said they are "damn lucky to be alive."
According to Tulsa police, Vildgr Bosbeil Alvarado, 23, was speeding westbound on 31st Street near Memorial Road about midnight Friday, and the sport utility vehicle he was driving began fishtailing.
Two men in an eastbound car witnessed the out-of-control SUV and stopped.
After Alvarado lost control, the vehicle flipped multiple times. On the last roll, it went over the car with the other two men inside, smashing the front and the windshield.
The witnesses told police the SUV looked like it was in slow motion as it was going end-over-end toward them.
The men in the car were shaken up, but only had minor injuries and were not transported to a hospital.
Alvarado was "highly intoxicated... and [the wreck] could have been a lot more devastating than it was," TPD Cpl. R.W. Solomon said.
Alvarado was arrested on complaints of driving under the influence, no proof of insurance and no driver's license.
He is currently in the Tulsa County jail and is on an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement hold.
