For the second straight week, Tulsa senior libero Jessica Adams was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week by the league office.
This marks the fourth time that Adams has won the award this year, and the 13th time she has earned it during her career.
Adams, the career leader in digs at Tulsa, passed Trish Ladusaw of Cincinnati for fifth-place in career digs in C-USA history as Adams has collected 2,116 during her TU career.
The reigning CVU.com National Player of the Week averaged 5.10 digs per set to help the Golden Hurricane achieve two five-set road victories against Houston and Rice, respectively. On the season, Adams leads the conference averaging 5.06 digs per frame.
Against the Cougars, Adams tallied 22 digs and a service ace as Tulsa defeated Houston 3-2. In the contest, Adams was served to 23 times and had a reception percentage of .913
In the Sunday match against Rice, Adams recorded 29 digs and earned a reception percentage of .971 as the Owls served to Adams 35 times in the match. Adams also added five assists and a kill in the contest.
Tulsa will conclude its four game road swing when it faces Southern Miss at 7 p.m. on Friday before rounding the trip out with a tilt against UCF on Sunday at 12 p.m.
