A cow crossing a highway was killed after being hit by three vehicles late Thursday evening.
Tulsa Police say the crash happened on Highway 169 just before midnight near 36th Street North.
Officers believe the cow came from a field on the east side of the highway. They say over the past couple of weeks they've gotten several calls about cows getting loose in the area.
The cow was hit by three northbound vehicles, including one driven by Dave VanPaepeghen.
He told News On 6 he was headed home from work when the cow just walked in front of his car.
"About the time you realize it's a cow it's too late. Out of the side I saw the movement between the middle and right lane and by the time it processed I had already hit it," said Dave VanPaepeghem.
VanPaepeghem believes his car was totaled.
Two other vehicles also struck the cow.
Tulsa Police blocked several of the lanes on 169 until a crew could come and remove the cow.
Officers say none of the drivers were injured in the crash.
