The final phase of the I-44 widening project between Yale and Riverside begins Monday and it will have the biggest impact yet on drivers.
All north and southbound lanes of Lewis Avenue at the I-44 junction will be closed for about 20 months, while crews replace the bridge over the interstate.
The ramps will remain open for now, but that will change as the project progresses.
Drivers will be directed to the Peoria and Harvard interchanges.
