The Tulsa women's soccer team tied Houston 0-0 Sunday in double-overtime at Robertson Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Golden Hurricanes moved to 5-3-2 on the season and 0-1-1 in Conference USA.
"It was hot and humid and reminded me a lot of the early part of our season," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "We told the team that this is a tough place to play. To even get a tie against a team that hasn't lost at home this season was great. I was proud of our effort. We dug deep, played for each other, created several chances to score, but was a little unlucky today. We are anxious to get back home and play a couple home games next weekend."
Claire Hulcer, Stephanie Aitken, Rachel Garcia and Alexa Sidorakis each had two shots for TU, while six others had one attempt in the contest. Hayley Harryman logged all 110 minutes in goal, recorded five saves and earned her first shutout on the year.
The Cougars had a 15-14 lead in shots, including a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal, while Tulsa had an 8-2 lead in corner kicks.
Tulsa will play again Friday, Sept. 28th at 7 p.m. against Colorado College in Tulsa.
