Driver Robs, Shoots Hitchhiker At Tulsa QuikTrip

Two hitchhikers were robbed at gunpoint by their driver early Saturday.

Police say two men got a ride from a casino at about 1:30 a.m.

The driver took them to a QuikTrip at 21st and Memorial – and then asked for money for gas. The hitchhikers gave the man a large denomination bill, and he went inside to pay for the gas and get change.

Police say when the driver returned, a struggle took place inside the car. The driver shot one of the men before abandoning them both, and driving away.

The victim's injuries weren't serious.
