A Muskogee woman has been charged with felony child abuse, a crime similar to one she was convicted of nearly 13 years ago.
Elizabeth Nadine Job, 39, was charged Tuesday in Muskogee County with willfully and maliciously taking a brain-damaged 17-year-old from her legal guardians, hiding the child and offering her drugs, a court information sheet says.
The teen, who is Job's daughter, currently has guardians other than Job and is mentally handicapped "due to past drug overdoses while in Job's care," according to court documents.
Job was also charged on Tuesday with one count of possession of a controlled substance in presence of a minor. She was arrested Saturday and was released from the Muskogee City-County jail Tuesday on a $10,000 bond.
If convicted of felony child abuse, Job could receive life in prison. The drug count carries a sentence of up to 10 years in the state penitentiary.
In 1999, Job entered a guilty plea and was convicted of felonious neglect after the same girl, then 4 years old, tested positive for PCP while in Job's care. She received a one-year deferred sentence.
"I took my child to the home of some drug users and she apparently absorbed PCP in to her skin resulting in an adverse reaction. There was no drug use going on, however, I knew that the persons in that home were past drug users and I should not have had my child in that environment," Job wrote in the 1999 court documents.
Court documents from 1999 also claim Job was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at age 25.
