It's not uncommon for Hollywood stars to go out in disguise, but Friday, News On 6 uncovered one of the extras for the new movie August: Osage County - under wraps - right in the middle of Tulsa.
Kerry Godfrey is part of Hollywood now.
Friday, Godfrey was working on a well-worn, rusty 1965 Dodge, that's going to be driven for a movie by one of the stars. The thing is it's not actually a well-worn, rusty truck.
The thing is it's not actually a well worn, rusty truck.
"Most of the time we try to make things look better, in this case, we're downgrading it," Godfrey said.
Godfrey runs a visual effects business that does everything from museum displays to vehicle wraps.
That's why he was hired for the movie and why he's spent the last few days applying rust and wear to what's really a truck in showroom condition.
"They wanted to make it look old, so we gave it some wear and tear," Godfrey said. "It was fully restored, it was beautiful and it just didn't belong pulling a horse trailer."
It wasn't hard to find trucks with real rust, so they took pictures of that and printed out stickers to change the color of the truck and make it look old.
They gave it some wear and made it look like a beat up old truck, more befitting the Pawhuska farm of the film's Weston family.
Godfrey said it's the first time he's had a job like this.
When the truck appears in the movie, Meryl Streep will be behind the wheel, so watch for it and see if you can tell what's real and what's fake—on the truck, anyway.
News On 6 has heard the real stars, including Streep, Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Juliette Lewis, Abigail Breslin, Ewan McGregor and Benedict Cumberbatch will be arriving in Green Country soon, so shooting can get underway.
It's all happening around Bartlesville and Pawhuska, over the next couple of months.
