A man known as the "Bucket List Bandit" was arrested on Thursday in Roland, Okla., the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced.
The FBI says Michael Brewster, 54, of Pensacola, Fla., is responsible for bank robberies in nine states. He was arrested on Thursday evening by Roland police after being pulled over in a routine traffic stop. Police discovered Brewster was driving a Florida stolen vehicle, with "an alleged fictitious license plate," a news release said.
The FBI staged a nationwide campaign to track Brewster and nicknamed him the "Bucket List Bandit" after he told a Utah bank teller he had only four months to live.
A warrant charges Brewster with robbing the Huntington National Bank branch in Erie, Penn., on Monday.
Authorities then reviewed surveillance video and found an "obvious likeness" to Brewster during robberies in Missouri, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, North Carolina, Tennessee and Illinois.
