Just as the Tulsa women's team had done only hours earlier, the men's soccer team notched a 3-0 victory on the road on Sunday.
The TU men's soccer team defeated Loyola Marymount 3-0 to improve to 3-2 on the season, while LMU fell to 1-3-1.
The Mata brothers accounted for all three Hurricane goals in the contest. Cristian Mata scored the opening goal at the 10:33 mark. Then his brother, Omar, netted his first goal of the season in the 39th minutes when he headed in a cross from Akeil Barrett for a 2-0 first-half advantage.
Cristian then scored his third goal of the season and the Hurricane's third of the game in the 63rd minute, knocking in a goal from eight yards out off an assist from Bryce Follensbee.
Both teams took seven shots but the Golden Hurricane held a decisive 6-2 lead in shots on goal.
Mark Pais logged all 90 minute in goal and recorded the shutout.
Tulsa will head to the SMU Classic on Friday and Sunday against UC Davis and Oakland, respectively, in Dallas.
