Senior libero Jessica Adams was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row, Conference USA announced on Monday.
For Adams, the Tulsa career digs leader, this marks the 10th time she has the won the award.
Adams averaged 5.54 digs per set during a four-match span, with two of those matches coming against Arkansas and Kansas. Adams collected more than 20 digs in each of the final two matches of the weekend, including a sweep of Nebraska Omaha on Saturday.
Her 23 digs against the Mavericks were the most in the conference during a three-set match. Adams leads the conference with 5.42 digs per set, and her passing has propelled the Golden Hurricane to a second-place ranking in attack percentage with a clip of .225.
Additionally, Adams was named to the Kansas Invitational All-Tournament squad, which is the second time she has earned a spot on an all-tournament squad this year.
A Tuesday night tilt against Oral Roberts awaits the Hurricane at 7 p.m. at Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center on the campus of ORU. A free shuttle for TU students will be provided by the athletic department, which will depart from in front of the 8th Street entrance of the Reynolds Center at 6 p.m.
