A 29-year-old Idaho truck driver is dead after his semi crashed and exploded on Interstate 44 in Ottawa County on Wednesday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released the driver's identity Saturday morning.

According to the OHP collision report, Rashadin Kuychiev, of Boise, Idaho, was eastbound about 8 miles east of Miami, at mile-marker 321 on the Will Rogers Turnpike, when the collision took place just after 7 p.m.

The report says Kuychiev left the roadway to the right, struck an embankment, went airborne for about 30 feet, went through a fence about 100 more feet and struck a tree head-on.

The 2005 Volvo semi he was driving caught fire and exploded, the report said.

Kuychiev was pinned in the truck for 3 hours and 37 minutes before the Miami Fire Department could extricate him, the report said.

The condition of the driver at the time of the wreck and cause of collision are both listed as "unknown" in the investigating trooper's initial report.
