Tulsa Police: Walmart Arrest May Solve Weekend Car Burglary Spree

Tulsa Police believe a man caught stealing items from a car parked in a Walmart parking lot Thursday may be responsible for a rash of car burglaries over the weekend.

Police got the call just before 11:30 p.m. Monday after a man saw someone inside his car at the Walmart near 68th and Memorial.

Walmart security had detained the man by the time police arrived.  Officers say they found a number of items stolen from the victim's car in Christopher Smith's pants.

Tulsa Police arrested Smith.  Police believe he may be connected to up to 15 car burglaries over the weekend at a hotel parking lot near 31st and Highway 169.
