An Oklahoma State University at Tulsa service fraternity is starting off their school year with a project to help Creek County fire victims.

Alpha Phi Omega members hope to pack a tractor-trailer with supplies for people in the Drumright and Olive areas or people whose apartments in Tulsa were destroyed by a fire Monday.

Volunteers will be at the trailer to help with donations.

"They've help the tornado victims from Joplin, and even I remember last year they helped the victims from Tuscaloosa and they filled up tractor trailer after tractor trailer and sent it to the different affected areas. I'm hoping we can fill up this tractor trailer and if we need to, Burggraff can provide more," said Marci Parkhurst, Alpha Phil Omega service fraternity.

Items needed:

  • Non-perishable food
  • Bottled water
  • Sports drinks
  • Toiletries, Diapers
  • Undergarments for men, women and children
  • Kitchen utensils
  • Blankets
  • School supplies
  • Pet food

The truck will be parked in a lot near the Main Hall at OSU-Tulsa at I-244 and Detroit. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.

Alpha Phil Omega will then deliver what they've collected Thursday, August 23, 2012.
