One of Oklahoma's own said thank you for the support from the home front in a media conference from Afghanistan Thursday.
Colonel TJ Jamison, from Broken Arrow, is the commander of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade from Fort Bragg, which is patrolling 43,000 square miles of eastern Afghanistan by air.
His unit is made up of more than 200 aircraft and 3,700 soldiers, which over the last 11 months has included support from the National Guard and reserve units here in Oklahoma.
"This has been an incredibly successful rotation for the 82nd CAV, and I just want to publicly thank all of our great soldiers and troopers and air crew members and aviators for the fantastic job that they've done throughout this rotation," Col. Jamison said.
Members of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade are starting to return to Fort Bragg.
