Tulsa Public And Tulsa Union Prepare For Monday's Start Of Classes

Tulsa Public Schools doesn't resume classes until Monday, August 20, 2012, but teachers and administrators will kick off the new school year Thursday with a special convocation ceremony.

TPS Superintendent Dr Keith Ballard will speak during the ceremony along with Tulsa Schools Teacher of the Year and Oklahoma Teacher of the Year Finalist Lane Matheson.

Thursday afternoon Union Public Schools administrators, teachers, and support staff will kickoff the new school year with an event at Union High School's Performing Arts Center. 

Tulsa Public and Tulsa Union are not the only ones which begin on Monday. The list includes Sand Springs and Sapulpa.
