Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief teams are in Creek County - doing "ash-out" work. They're literally scraping off what's left of charred foundations and clearing scorched lots.
Sam Porter of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma sent the word out last week that teams were needed to help with ash removal.
"Looks like we have over 350 Oklahomans that have lost their homes and many of them are uninsured," Porter said in a call to action letter.
"We must help them, as many as we can."
The Baptist Disaster Relief team members are being housed in local Baptist churches.
