The Tulsa Drillers have discovered a certain flair for the dramatic this weekend.

One night after taking the lead on a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth, the Drillers got a three-run home run from Michael Mitchell in the bottom of the eighth to steal an 8-6 victory over the Midland RockHounds Saturday night.

Zach Simons got the win for the Drillers, while Brett Hunter took the loss. Josh Sullivan worked around a walk and a double in the ninth for his 14th save of the season.

Midland struck first when Dusty Coleman hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the second, staking the RockHounds to a 3-0 lead.

Tulsa battled back, scoring two run in the bottom of the third, and a single run in the bottom of the fourth to knot the score at three apiece.

The Drillers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Mike Zuanich that scored Ben Paulsen. Midland wouldn't go down without a fight, getting yet another three-run home run, this time from Tyler Ladendorf, in the top of the seventh to take a 6-4 lead.

The Drillers scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to narrow the score to 6-5 before Mitchell's heroics in the bottom of the eighth.

Tulsa and Midland will tangle again tomorrow night at ONEOK Field at 7:05 p.m. with Tulsa looking for yet another dramatic finish for a third straight win.
