Despite the heat, a lot of people came out to McDonald's to check out some cool trucks on display.

The Touch-A-Truck event in Owasso and Collinsville featured a variety of vehicles from dump trucks to tractors.

Kids got the chance to get behind the wheel and learn about some massive machines.

McDonald's also handed out free backpacks and Owasso Community Resources was there to register parents to get free school supplies for their kids.

"Once they get their supplies and they collect them through us, they get ready," said Madia Guevara, with Owasso Community Resources. "You can see them happy and that's what we want. We want kids to be excited about going back to school."

Organizers of the event also collected canned goods to benefit the local food pantry.
