Some of Oklahoma's Own are trying to preserve a piece of Tulsa history tonight.

Preservationists are working on an application to put the Greenwood Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

Once known as America's "Black Wall Street," Greenwood was burned to the ground in 1921, in one of the nation's worst race riots.

Greenwood could make the list as early as December.
