A Bristow man was killed in a single-car rollover wreck Saturday night, July 21.

Johnny Lanor McGinnis was driving southbound on State Highway 48 about two miles south of State Highway 33 at 11:17 p.m., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

His Mitsubishi Eclipse ran off the road for an unknown reason, striking a culvert and flipping two times, the trooper states.

The 40-year-old McGinnis, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries.

Troopers report that there was a smell of alcohol on the driver, and the cause of the wreck is listed as driving under the influence.
