Time is running out for Oklahomans to sign up for health insurance policies that only cover children up to 18 years old.
The end of child-only policies was an unintended consequence of the Affordable Care Act.
The insurance department created an emergency rule that allows them to offer these policies, but the sign-up period ends July 31.
State insurance leaders say it affects about 4% of Oklahoma children.
Many of them are being cared for by grandparents, who are on Medicare and don't need a full family policy.
