A group of neighbors captured a man police say burglarized a midtown Tulsa home. James Dutton, 48, is in Tulsa County Jail on a complaint of second degree burglary.

A homeowner returned to his house in the 1200 block of East 39th Thursday night to see his garage door and front door open. He saw a man running from the garage and started chasing him.

Neighbors heard the man yelling and saw the suspect running from behind some bushes. They gave chase Dutton in the parking lot of the Ace Hardware Store at 4100 South Peoria.

Police say Dutton found the homeowner's garage door unlocked and made entry. He took items from the house and garage, including a bicycle and lawn mower that were hidden next door, according to Tulsa police.

Dutton was booked on a complaint of second degree burglary after former conviction of a felony.
