University Of Tulsa Buys Historic Skelly Mansion

The University of Tulsa's president is getting a new place to call home.

The university is buying the historic Skelly Mansion in Tulsa's Maple Ridge neighborhood.

TU President, Geoffrey Orsak, will live on the top floor of the 9,000-square-foot home, while the lower level will be used for special events.

The mansion, built in 1924, was listed at a price of over $2 million.

Orsak took over as the university's president Sunday, so he and his family will be the first from TU to live in the house, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Famous past visitors to the home include U.S. Presidents Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover, as well as Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart.
