Gilcrease Museum is celebrating Independence Day with $1 admission to their exhibit on America's first president.

The exhibit showcases highlights from a collection usually housed at Mount Vernon. It stars the "real" George Washington, starting with his life as a young man. Forensic scientists created life-size models of Washington throughout his life, using modern science to recreate history.

One of the most popular items in the exhibit – Washington's only complete set of surviving dentures. And no, they weren't made of wood.

The exhibit runs through September 23, 2012 and includes videos, original artifacts, 3-D models of battlefields and more.

Gilcrease is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. It is located at 1400 North Gilcrease Museum Road.
