A Jay man was killed in a four-wheeler wreck late Saturday evening in Delaware County, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers say Leslie F. Shaw was driving an Arctic Cat four-wheeler eastbound on a county road a few miles northwest of Jay. At about 8:45 p.m., the four-wheeler failed to negotiate a curve, running off the road and striking a tree.

Shaw, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene from head and internal injuries. A passenger, 39-year-old Colisa Keely of Jay, was treated and released from a Joplin hospital with internal and leg injuries.

The trooper's report lists Shaw's condition at the time of the wreck as unknown. The cause of the collision is listed as unsafe speed on a curve.
