You really can't beat home grown Oklahoma produce, but not everyone gets to enjoy it.

Now, the Jewish Federation of Tulsa is trying to change that.

The Jewish Federation of Tulsa broke ground Tuesday on a new community garden that will help stock the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and other programs.

The project has been in the works for more than a year. It is a sustainable 6,400 square-foot garden in the shape of the Star of David located in the 2000 block of East 71st Street.

"The Star of David design of this is about unity, it is about our commitment to service, and at the core of this, this is really about producing food," said Drew Diamond, Executive Director of the Jewish Federation.

Diamond said the garden is open to both Jewish and non-Jewish community members.
