SAVANNA, Oklahoma -- A 25-year-old man was airlifted to a Tulsa hospital with a head injury following a collision with a semi truck Friday afternoon.

It happened just before 2 p.m. on Highway 69 in Savanna in Pittsburg County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol say Dalton Derden of McAlester was driving southbound on Highway 69 when the semi pulled out in front of him from a private drive.

The Jeep struck the trailer of the semi driven by Heriberto Figueroa, 35, of Miami, Florida. Derden was pinned inside his vehicle for 30 minutes while the McAlester fire department worked to free him.

Derden was transported in stable condition.
