Tulsa Public Schools React To More State Budget Cuts

Chief Financial Officer Trish Williams said us the district will lose about $688,000 in addition to the cuts TPS has already made.

We now know how the activities budget approved yesterday by the state school board will impact Tulsa Public Schools.

Chief Financial Officer Trish Williams said us the district will lose about $688,000 in addition to the cuts TPS has already made.

Williams said, overall, the new cuts are another shock to the district.

"The reading sufficiency funds, adult education, ACE Remediation, Oklahoma Parents As Teachers, you know, those are all a little bit of a surprise for schools, so we're kind of grappling with the impact on our budgets," Williams said.

The budget does restore funding to some programs, including $185,000 dollars to Tulsa Street School.
