A Tulsa man is in jail after police chased a car he was driving on state Highway 11 into a neighborhood Thursday evening.

Tulsa Police say an officer spotted the car driven by Russell Swain, 25, going east at a high rate of speed.

After a short chase in which the police officer said Swain drove recklessly and cut off other traffic, Swain jumped out of the car and tried to run away.  Officers chased him down.

In a jail report, the officer said a search of Swain and the car turned up a spoon and needles, "commonly used for intravenous drug use."

The car, a 2002 Honda Civic, turned out to be stolen.

Swain was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of eluding, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, speeding and possible drug paraphernalia.
