A Broken Arrow native is part of a security force training Afghan Uniformed Police. Captain Matt Yarnall is on the Security Forces Assist and Advise Team at Forward Operation Base Lagman.

Yarnall was videotaped on May 22, 2012, discussing his mission. He met with Afghan leaders in the Qalat District, Zabul Province.

The crews worked to discuss logistical issues and find training locations for the local forces.

"Some of the things that we like to take away from it is that these are very capable people," Yarnall said.

"They can do all the basic police skills. It's just looking at trying to get them to build capacity even more so they can completely control the area effectively and intertwine with the population more and be that face of the Afghanistan government to those people."
