Of the eight Oklahoma high schools on this year's Newsweek's annual list of the country's best 1,000 high schools only two are in Tulsa.

The rest are in the Oklahoma City area.

Booker T Washington comes in at 124th and Dove Science Academy ranks 615th on Newsweek's list.

Newsweek says the magazine factors six criteria.

Those include graduation rate, college acceptance rate, number of AP and other high level exams given per student, average SAT/ACT test scores and number of AP sources offered per student. Here is a list of the Oklahoma high schools on the list.

  • 35   Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics [Oklahoma City]
  • 39   Classen School of Advanced Studies [Oklahoma City]
  • 119 Hardig Charter Preparatory [Oklahoma City]
  • 124 Booker T Washington [Tulsa]
  • 615 Dove Science Academy [Tulsa]
  • 696 Edmond Memorial [Edmond]
