Two Tulsa girls are learning how quickly life can change. Their mother adopted them both from India years ago and Tuesday- the young teens bury her. She died in a car crash Thursday.

Kaylee and Karis Konkler loved their lives in Tulsa with their mom, Donna. She raised them on her own and since her death, more unexpected changes could be in store for the sisters.

Just a few hours before the viewing for Donna Konkler, Kaylee and Karis Konkler got candid about their mother.

"She was really indescribable," Kaylee Konkler, daughter, said. "She just showered you with love all the time and just made sure you were important and that you were loved and cared for at all times."

Donna was a single parent. She adopted both of the girls from India as infants and supported them on a nurse's salary.

"The way she laughed and the way she made life really worth living, it seemed like the most natural thing in the world for her," Karis Konkler, daughter, said.

Donna's life was cut short in a crash Thursday in Broken Arrow. Police say a motorcyclist t-boned her car at Elm and Fargo - killing both of them.

Donna's daughters had to sort through things at home to help with funeral arrangements.

"Lately, we've been finding a lot of things that she wrote down that I've never seen before," Kaylee said. "It's really perfect, the timing, of how I found it."

The girls are bracing for more tough times. Both go to Edison Prep in Tulsa and their future with the school they absolutely love is uncertain as they figure out living arrangements with relatives.

They'll deal with that later. For now, they just miss their mom.

"She's going to miss me graduate and stuff like that, but she's really going to be there," Kaylee said. "I know she'll be proud of me and she'll let me know. She'll probably write me another note."

Donna Konkler's funeral is Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sheridan Road Baptist Church in Tulsa.

Family and friends have set up a fund to help the girls called "Kaylee and Karis Konkler Support Trust." You can make a donation at any Midfirst Bank.
