A traffic accident involving a Broken Arrow police officer tied-up eastbound traffic on the BA Expressway near Elm Place Monday afternoon. It happened around 4 p.m.

Broken Arrow police say an officer had stopped to help a stranded motorist on the BA when a man driving a Chevy Blazer struck the rear of the officer's police cruiser.

The officer was still inside his car when the collision occurred. Broken Arrow fire crews freed the pinned officer who suffered only minor injuries.

The driver of the Blazer was also hurt, but his injuries are considered non-life threatening, according to police.
