National financial adviser Clark Howard was in Tulsa helping build a home he's sponsoring along with Habitat for Humanity and KRMG Radio.

Thanks to dozens of volunteers, they were able to get the walls raised and trusses in place on Saturday.

"It's a blessing," Project Home recipient Brittany Slaughter said. "I can't stress enough for everybody coming out helping me today. It feels a blessing for me to be 23-year-old and being able to own my house soon."

More than 100 local volunteers came out Saturday to help along progress on the home. From start to finish, the home will have taken about 10 weeks.

Howard's initial donation of $35,000 jump-started the project.

Slaughter received a zero-interest loan though Habitat for Humanity.
