If you watched any television in the 1970s and 80s, you saw commercials for Slim Whitman, one of the most successful recording artists of all time.

If you watched any television in the 1970s and 80s, you saw commercials for Slim Whitman, one of the most successful recording artists of all time.

His songs have been featured in numerous films, including "Mars Attacks" where his version of "Indian Love Call" becomes the ultimate weapon against an alien invasion.

On October 4, 1981, "the smiling starduster" performed a show at the Tulsa State Fair and KOTV reporter Winifred Washington was there.
