A Muskogee man and convicted sex offender was arrested Wednesday after a witness reported seeing him at a school bus stop holding a sign that said "Pay $300 for sex."
John James Williams, 52, was arrested by Muskogee police on a complaint of lewd proposal to a minor.
"He was arrested because he was offering to give girls money for sex," said Pedro Zardeneta of the Muskogee Police Department.
A female juvenile called authorities at 5 p.m. Wednesday and Williams was arrested Thursday morning.
Williams was previously convicted of a sex offense in 2001.
